One Thing We Need To Stop

Two posts in one day? Yep, you are super lucky. This one is getting typed up super fast because of something I keep seeing all over social media: Belly Shaming. Every. Single. Day. I see posts in a group I am in where moms are asking how far along they look just based on their bellies. Guess what? No two people will look exactly a like while they are pregnant. My 21 week belly might be equal to your 9 week or 39 week belly. And guess what? That's quite alright! I wish I could say that it only happens in mom's groups or even on social media for that matter. Sadly, that's not the case. I have heard so many stories of women being asked how far along they are. The worst part? Sometimes they aren't even pregnant. And that is no one's business! Seriously, if it isn't your belly, you probably don't have a reason to comment on it's size. We don't just walk up to someone in the store and comment about how big their ears or noses are so why is it okay...

I Love What You're Selling, But No

Let me start this off by saying that I love all my friends and I love their direct sales businesses! I love that they are able to work from home or on their lunch break if they have a full time job so they can support their family or just bring in some fun money. But direct sales isn't for everyone. I'm sure you've seen posts like this before, but I felt it necessary to type my own. If you are thinking about sending me a message asking me to join your team, please think again. I don't want to be rude, but direct sales isn't my thing. See, I've tried direct sales THREE times already. The first time was a complete bust, the second time just wasn't a good match for me and the third time I had success, but felt the need to walk away due to some issues that I won't get into. I also spend WAY too much time on my phone and computer as it is. The last thing I need to do is add more time on to what I already spend there because I want to be successful. I k...

Whole 30 Weekly Wrap 4

First of all, did you notice there is no weekly wrap 3? Yep....sorry about that. Life got a little crazy around here with swim lessons and then gutting a bathroom (you'll see more about that later). So it's easier for me to do week 4 now because it's still fresh in my mind. I mean, I have to think back a pretty long way to remember what I had in week 3. I'm working on it and you will see it soon, I'm sure. Monday was a typical Monday around here. We woke up later than we expected to, were a bit sluggish, but still managed to be okay. Breakfast was cereal for my son (his choice) and some fruit for me. In fact, breakfast this week was pretty much all cereal or fruit. We stick to easy around here, especially when we get lazy. Lunch for me was a salad because I finally found some awesome dressing. Seriously, I have been trying dressings (homemade, store bought) and just haven't found the dressing to make me eat as many salads as I would like. Insert this yummy ...

Whole 30 Weekly Wrap 2

Week two of Whole 30 (okay week 1.5) is over and was pretty eventful. I may not have had a perfect week as far as the meals go, but I still stayed away from the sodas, ate clean and got my workouts in. I'd say even if I had a couple missteps this week, I did pretty amazing. ;) We had a lazy start to Monday (as seems to be the pattern when the husband is home for any reason) and just had snacks for breakfast. The husband and kiddos had cereal and I had fruit. For lunch, we went out to eat and got some yummy Mediterranean food. This is where the first slip up of the week happened. And I made it count. Apparently, hummus is a no-no on the Whole30 (insert sad face here). I was good about not dipping my kofta (if you don't know what that is, look it up and fall in love - I'll be making it at home here soon) in the yogurt sauce it comes with, which is so good by the way. I did however, dip it in the hummus. But in all the bad choices that I could have made, I think hummus wasn...

Whole30 Weekly Wrap

Week 1 of Whole30 is done! Okay, just kidding I still have 3 more days left, but I want to make this weekly wrap a habit so here it is! So, let's talk about the Whole30 really fast, shall we? I actually forgot how much I hate the first few days. In fact, I hate it so much that my first day wasn't really until the 2nd. We wound up taking a small trip to go see a bunch of airplanes and of course the cafĂ© there didn't have anything I could eat and stick to Whole30. So I ate as healthy as I could and limited my soda intake to a few drinks. Dinner was awesome because I was able to get chicken, green beans and watermelon! And it was amazing. Day two, we were back home and I made one of my favorite recipes: Sweet and Spicy Chicken  and Macaroni and Cheese. Okay, the boys had Mac and Cheese and I had a salad. I also didn't add any sugar on to my chicken so that I could stay Whole30 compliant. It was still just as amazing so if you are looking for a quick yummy meal, this is ...
